Knetzgau
Knetzgau is a relatively small and quiet community on the Main (rhymes with Rhein) River in the northern part of Bayern (Bavaria). It is about equidistant from Bamberg and Schweinfurt, and the A70 autobahn runs right by use here, making getting around very convenient. If I were looking for somewhere in Germany to retire, this would be it.

Double Cross
We were having our first cappuccino today in Hassfurt, a nearby town, when I noticed the “double cross” through the cafe window and looking at the late gothic Ritterkapelle (Knights Chapel) next door.
Blue Roof

Blue sky above Burger King
We stopped at a Burger King somewhere in Connecticut and I could not resist the blue on blue shot here.
Another Farewell
We took one last look at the Creeper Trail yesterday before heading out on Tuesday. The weather was cool and cloudy, but we’ve never had a bad day on the Trail. Not in snow and ice, torrential downpours and sweltering heat. It came close once, when a couple of bulls along a lonely stretch were getting loud and aggressive, but we managed to get by them without incident. There may be better hiking trails in America, but the Virginia Creeper Trail will always be at the top of our list.
Water Lily
We recently spent the day at the Biltmore Estate. It was overcast in the morning and the light kept changing, which is not always a bad thing. This was taken in the Italian Garden, and I did minimal post processing on it.

Stray
An abandoned little dog who follows me while I walk at Leeman Field. Mangy, flea ridden and sickly, all she wants is a little attention.
Little Red House
They have painted a lot of the things in Leeman Field with the same shade of deep red that looks (to me) good in the foggy early morning light.

Septic Tank
This looks like a septic tank on wheels, but is used to water down the ground during rodeos at Leeman (not Lehman) Field. I hope.

Pool
Early morning at Leeman Field
We’ve started walking together, Gerda and I, before breakfast at Leeman Field. It beats the Middle School track, and there is lots of things to photograph in the early light.
