The more I look at photographs in Flickr, the more I see the same old thing over and over again. A picture may be worth ten thousand words, but must they all say the same thing? Here is a different approach.

I always try to discern the lighting set up on pictures in the studio. This one is likely a two light set up with the key light being high to the right and slightly behind the subject. The other is a fill light. With portraits you can tell by looking in the eyes and looking for catch lights.
Is there something in the air? Yesterday I didn’t have the heart to comment on yet more of the same on my contacts photos.
I guess people say that about me, too.
But the good thing about flickr is there is always something new and exciting if you spend a little time looking for it.
The photographer (maneeacc) says: one strobe behind the subect, top right… with an umbrella.
I try to “explore” 500 photos of Flickr defined “Interestingness” nearly every day, hoping to learn what elements contribute to my idea of a good picture. Originality leads all else by miles.
