There is a playground at Leeman Field, and on this playground there is a swing. And because playgrounds in general and swings in particular are hazardous, there is a safety harness for this swing. It is all the way across town, stored in the Mayor’s Office. You can call the mayor. His phone number is nearby. Maybe he will bring the harness to the playground for you. Then you can swing safely. Maybe the mayor will even push you for a while, before he takes his safety harness back to his office. That would be fun.
Yep, this borders on one of the stupidest cover-your-behind bureaucratic displays I have ever seen. I imagine locals just pulling some rope or twine from the trunk or back of the pick up truck and securing their child to this swing. Good grief!
Actually, the sign only implies the safety harness at the mayor’s office is a harness for the swing. People just might not put the two together. A loophole is a loophole.
Stand by for some more signs I’ve noticed in and around Leeman Field. The grammarian in me is cringing . . .
