I’ve started exploring Pennington Gap on foot in the early morning hours. This is a reflection in a shop window just down the street from our house.

Same broom, new camera.
Recently bought the Nikon D40, something I have been looking at for almost a year now. The price finally went down to where I felt it was a good value.
One thing I will have to re-learn is using the view finder. After using a point-and-shoot for so long, I have become used to the “live view.”

I didn’t add this to my favorites because it wasn’t in today’s “interestingness” photographs. But this is a terrific portrait of an older person. It is honest, and doesn’t try to be anything else. Beauty over glamor.

This was taken up on the hill by the pavillion. It turned out to be a wonderfully warm and sunny day, and we discovered a dozen paths from the pavillion down to the parking lot.
