Same broom, new camera.
Recently bought the Nikon D40, something I have been looking at for almost a year now. The price finally went down to where I felt it was a good value.
One thing I will have to re-learn is using the view finder. After using a point-and-shoot for so long, I have become used to the “live view.”

Great shot. You were very lucky to get a price reduction – all the Nikon stuff I want is through the roof on prices right now because the yen is so strong. There was a 20% price hike on all the pro stuff in January and it’s rumoured there will be another hike at the end of this month. So I just went right out and bought their pro telephoto while I could!
I expect the price on the Nikon D40 will drop dramatically, now that I finally bought one. I have that effect on things. I can even slow down cars in front of me on the highway, simply by moving into a particular lane of traffic.
